Tabernacle Lamb

All tabernacles measure: 26x28 depth 23 cm.
Internally: 22.5x22.5 depth 18 cm.

It is the image of Christ. It refers to the sacrifices of the temple; his meekness recalls Jesus' obedience to the Father. The most ancient images show him lying down, for the suffering of the Sacrifice. However, it also refers to the resurrected and glorified Christ. In this case the Lamb affirms himself as the ruler of the universe, he is pierced and yet he is alive because he is resurrected. In our representation, he is lying on the book of the seven seals of the Apocalypse which identifies the Lamb in Christ among the protagonists.
